(Alliance News) - Aurora Investment Trust PLC said on Friday its decline in net asset value total return was affected by poor stock performances from Barrett Developments and Castelnau Group.

The London-based investment trust said its net asset value per share at December 31 was 203.45 pence, down 20% from 253.49p at December 31 2021.

Aurora Investment Trust said its NAV total return for the year was negative 17.4%. The company said its holding company Barratt Developments was the biggest contributor to Aurora Investment Trust's NAV return decline, with a negative 5.4% impact on the overall return, while Castelnau Group contributed to a 4.3% drop.

Aurora recommended a final dividend of 2.97p for 2022, up 61% from 1.85p the year prior.

Looking ahead, the company eyes "potential for significant performance" as Aurora Investment Trust reported a NAV return of 14.4% in the first quarter of 2023, up from the index of 3.1%.

Aurora Investment Trust shares were up 0.5% at 213.00 p each in London on Friday morning.
