BANGKOK - May 15, 2024 - Avient Corporation, a premier provider of specialized and sustainable materials solutions and services, will display its comprehensive portfolio of sustainable and high-performance thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) and specialty engineered materials during Plastics and Rubber Thailand 2024. This event is one of the leading trade shows for plastics and rubber and will be held at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC) in Thailand from today until May 18.

Avient's featured range of products on display includes customized protection film materials, adhesive TPEs for textile fabric, bio-based TPEs, and specialty engineered materials developed to enhance product performance in the building and construction, automotive, and consumer industries. Avient will also have experts on-site dedicated to providing professional technology support services to help customers streamline production, reduce cost, and meet sustainability goals.

• Syncure™ XLPE Cross-linkable Polyethylene Formulations: a range of silane-grafted, moisture cross-linkable polyethylene (XLPE) systems for wire insulation and cable jacketing, delivering high resistance to heat, oil, creep, and abrasion with good low-temperature performance and outstanding flame retardancy according to UL 44, UL 4703 and CSA 22.2 requirements
• reSound™ REC TPEs: specially developed for automotive interiors, formulated with 55% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content to offer a more sustainable alternative to standard TPE grades without compromising performance criteria such as ultraviolet (UV) stability, low volatile organic compound (VOC) content, low odor, and low fogging in applications such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) nozzles, interior mats, and cup holders
• Avient's Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) Calculator: a tool that is third-party-certified by TÜV Rheinland, developed to evaluate the carbon footprint of Avient's specialized and sustainable material solutions to help companies address the growing demand to create and meet sustainability commitments, understand the environmental impact of products, and navigate the complex landscape of reducing carbon emissions, particularly for upstream materials, and aligns with the ISO 14067:2018 standard for quantifying and reporting the carbon footprint of a product
• Versaflex™ PF TPEs: specially developed to create a co-extruded tack layer for surface protective films that can be easily applied and maintain tack with minimal build, peel smoothly during removal, and remove entirely with little to no residue or ghosting. These formulations can also reduce VOCs and eliminate costly and time-consuming coating compared to traditional TPEs, offering a more sustainable process
• Versaflex™ TF Adhesive TPEs for Textile Fabrics: a cost-effective alternative compared to traditional thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) adhesive films and traditional glues, offering a low VOC and non-intentionally added plasticizers, combining strong and seamless adhesion to polyester and nylon fabrics with outstanding elastic recovery for high wearing comfort
• reSound™ BIO TPEs: contains 40 to 90 percent bio-based content within a wide hardness range (which can help reduce carbon footprint) and has performance characteristics that are comparable to standard TPEs
• Artisan™ Pre-Colored Thermoplastics: chemical and scratch-resistant formulations with special aesthetics such as high-gloss, matte, marble, speckle, and more, as an alternative to painted metal or plastic parts that can eliminate secondary painting process, leading to reduced energy consumption and VOC emissions
• Bergamid™ FR Non-Halogen Flame Retardant Formulations: specially formulated for high-voltage connectors in a safety orange color, these materials combine the application flexibility of high-flow nylons for thin-wall designs with the performance of a non-halogenated fire retardant system, available in unfilled or reinforced PA6, PA66 and PA 6/66 grades with UL 94 V0 and CTI 800+ ratings
