Barclays announces the appointment in New York of Tom Vandever as Managing Director and Head of Financial Institutions M&A for the Americas.

Mr. Vandever joins Barclays following over 14 years at Goldman Sachs, where he was most recently a managing director in the firm's Financial Institutions Group. During his time at Goldman, Mr. Vandever completed over 100 transactions spanning advisory, financing and capital and risk management.

With 17 years in the financial services industry, Mr. Vandever brings a wealth of transaction experience to Barclays. In his role as Head of M&A-Americas for the Financial Institutions Group, Mr. Vandever will be responsible for leading strategic dialogue with FIG clients in the Americas and globally.

Mr. Vandever is expected to join the firm in August 2014.
