BASKING RIDGE, N.J. (AP) _ Barnes & Noble Education Inc. (BNED) on Tuesday reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $22.5 million.

The Basking Ridge, New Jersey-based company said it had net income of 41 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and restructuring costs, came to 45 cents per share.

The operator of book stores on college campuses posted revenue of $627 million in the period.

Barnes & Noble Education shares have risen 91% since the beginning of the year. The stock has more than doubled in the last 12 months.
