BERLIN (dpa-AFX) - The planned partial legalization of cannabis in Germany is entering the home straight. On Wednesday (9.30 a.m.), the Bundestag's Health Committee will finally discuss the coalition's legislative plans for a controlled release with numerous rules and regulations. The plan is expected to be passed by parliament this Friday. Home cultivation and possession of certain quantities will be permitted for adults from April 1. Clubs for non-commercial cultivation are to become possible on July 1. The plans have been widely criticized by medical associations and domestic politicians at federal and state level, among others. The adopted law still has to be passed by the Bundesrat, but does not require approval there./sam/DP/mis
