Cengage Appoints Gary Fortier as Chief People Officer

Cengage announced the appointment of Gary Fortier as Chief People Officer. The appointment comes on the heels of the company's successful launch of Cengage Unlimited, the subscription service, and signals continued investment in recruiting the best and brightest talent to support the company's transition to digital. Based in the Boston headquarters, Gary will serve on the Executive Team and will be responsible for growing the Cengage employee culture in support of the company's strategy. Gary most recently served as CEO for Vision Government Solutions. Previously Gary was Chief Operating Officer for Raizlabs. Gary has served in operational, finance and HR leadership and executive-level roles at companies including GL Advisor, PowerAdvocate, and The Home Depot. Gary's leadership experience stems from his time in the 82nd Airborne Division where he became a U.S. Army Ranger and jumpmaster.
