China Candy Holdings Limited announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2017. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of RMB 12,886,000 against RMB 19,229,000 a year ago. Loss before tax was RMB 5,299,000 against profit of RMB 1,638,000 a year ago. Loss for the period was RMB 5,271,000 against profit of RMB 949,000 a year ago. Basic and diluted loss per share was 0.33 cents against earnings of 0.07 cents a year ago. For the nine months, the company reported revenue of RMB 37,890,000 against RMB 49,019,000 a year ago. Loss before tax was RMB 17,156,000 against profit of RMB 1,897,000 a year ago. Loss for the period was RMB 17,425,000 against profit of RMB 651,000 a year ago. Basic and diluted loss per share was 1.14 cents against profit of 0.05 cents a year ago. The decrease in revenue for the period was mainly attributed to the decrease in demand in the PRC and keen competition from other candies manufacturers for the period. The loss was mainly caused by the decrease in revenue and gross profit margin, as well as the increase in administrative expenses.
