With less than a week to go until the first whistle of the European tournament blows, Coronation Street actor Will Mellor, celebrity friends, and Deliveroo, have today announced the re-release of football song Vindaloo, loved by England fans across the nation, this time going by a new name, Vindaloo Two.

Football fans and families up and down the country will have the opportunity to sing along to classic lines like 'we're gonna score one more than you, England!' and sing the famous 'nah nah nah' phrase more than 100 times when the Vindaloo Two charity single is released on the 11th of June, available to download and on all streaming platforms, with all sales of the single being donated to NHS Charities Together.

23 years after it was first recorded, Will Mellor, Keith Lemon, Paddy McGuiness, Danny Dyer, Mark 'Bez' Berry, Rowetta, London Community Gospel Choir, Deliveroo riders, and the Master of Ceremonies himself - Keith Allen, all came together and volunteered their voices for the cover of Fat Les', Vindaloo, and will be listed under the artist name - 'Together For England'.

Originally penned in 1998 for the World Cup in France, the aim is to get the charity single backed by Deliveroo to No.1, as the higher the single climbs, the more it will raise in much-needed funds for NHS Charities Together.

To shine a light on the true stars behind the re-release, NHS nurses and other frontline workers lent their voices to the Vindaloo track as well as appeared in the nostalgic music video set for release via YouTube on 11th June. The Music video was filmed under strict COVID-19 protocols with the parade being filmed marching down Hoxton Street Market, where the original video was made in 1998.

Speaking about his motivation to re-release the track, Will Mellor, said, 'Vindaloo was the unofficial anthem for England fans back in 1998 and it's been sung at tournaments ever since, so we owe a big thank you to the Keith Allen & Co-writers Alex James & Guy Pratt for giving us their blessing to put a new spin on the song in support of the NHS. With help from Deliveroo, we want to bring this song back - in stadiums, pubs and at home - to put some smiles back on people's faces and bring the nation together after such a tough time. It's such an uplifting song and it'll give football fans something extra to sing about because every time someone streams or buys the single, they'll be saying thank you to the NHS.'

The re-release of the classic football anthem wouldn't be possible without the online food-delivery company, Deliveroo. As part of its continued support for the NHS, the company has supported and funded the re-make of Vindaloo to re-ignite the nation in the spirit of football for a good cause.

At the start of the Covid outbreak, Deliveroo launched a 'Supporting the NHS' campaign, pledging to deliver one million free meals to the NHS and other vulnerable groups. In May, the company proudly announced it delivered one million meals to over 1,000 hospitals across 100 cities throughout the pandemic.

Aisha Jefferson, Head of Consumer Communications at Deliveroo, said: 'Our incredible NHS and frontline workers' save lives and protect the nation day and night, so we wanted to help Will Mellor and friends to re-release Vindaloo in the hope that it raises money for the NHS and gives the nation another reason to celebrate this summer. This charity single is especially close to our hearts as Deliveroo is a proud sponsor of the England team this year, so we'll be cheering them on along with the nation, shouting 'we're gonna score one more than you', and getting stuck into a 'bucket of vindaloo'. There's no better way to cheer on our national heroes on and off the pitch, as the more singles sold, the more donated to the NHS, so start downloading!'

Produced by Brad Ellis & Jez Ashworth at the legendary Metropolis Studios in London, and released in partnership with Insanity Group, the goal is to get the single to number 1 to raise as many funds for the NHS as possible, and the song will be released just in time to blare out from people's speakers ahead of England's big kick-off on 13th June.

Deliveroo customers should keep their eyes peeled for another exciting launch happening in the coming weeks, to help celebrate the release of Vindaloo Two and encourage more people to get behind the charity single and drive it to no.1 in the charts to raise more funds for NHS Charities Together.

Vindaloo Two under the artist name 'Together for England' will be available to buy and download on all streaming platforms from 11th June, and to get in the spirit, football fans can watch the video on YouTube featuring famous faces on the same day.
