--Logistics businessman Klaus-Michael Kuehne has taken over a part of Lufthansa's shares previously held by the German government, Handelsblatt reports, citing unnamed sources.

--The number of shares purchased by Mr. Kuehne, majority shareholder of Swiss logistics company Kuehne + Nagel, isn't known, but he is now expected to get a seat on Lufthansa's supervisory board from next year's annual general meeting, according to Handelsblatt.

--The move comes after the German government said Tuesday that it has exited its stake in the airline after two years, having acquired part of the company to keep it afloat as lockdowns hit air travel during the Covid-19 pandemic.
