(Alliance News) - Domino's Pizza Group PLC on Thursday said it appointed former head of multiple Domino's franchises Andrew Rennie as its new chief executive officer, effective August 7.

Rennie will replace Elias Diaz Sese, who took over as interim CEO in October last year. Diaz Sese will revert to non-executive director, a role he had held since joining the board in 2019. Rennie will join the Domino's board on August 1, ahead of taking over as CEO.

Rennie had "an extensive career in the Domino's global system", with a "deep knowledge of the brand, vast experience of working with franchisees, and was himself a very successful multi-unit franchisee for a decade".

The Milton Keynes, England-based master franchiser for the Domino's Pizza delivery brand in the UK and Ireland said Rennie spent over two decades at the Sydney-listed Domino's Pizza Enterprises Ltd. There, he was CEO of France & Belgium from 2006 to 2010, chief operating officer and then CEO of its Australia & New Zealand arm from 2010 to 2013, and CEO of its European business from 2014 to 2020.

"Andrew understands the power and potential of the Domino's brand as well as anyone in the business globally. He is an energetic and entrepreneurial leader with an incredible track record of delivering growth in Domino's businesses around the world," said Domino's Chair Matt Shattock.

Incoming CEO Rennie said: "The Domino's brand is in my blood, and I've admired the strong progress the UK and Ireland business has made in recent years. Working with the team at Domino's Pizza Group and the world-class franchisees here, I know we can take the business to new heights and I can't wait to get started."

Rennie is also a non-executive director at AIM-listed DP Poland PLC and chair of Cheesecake Shop, a 238-store business in Australia and New Zealand.

Shares in Domino's were up 2.5% to 300.00 pence each in London early Thursday, while DP Poland shares were quoted at 7.54p, up 1.9%. In Sydney, Domino's Pizza Enterprises closed up 3.0% to AUD48.71 each on Thursday. Domino's Pizza Inc is listed in New York. Its shares closed up 11% at USD388.59 on Wednesday.
