'From the ICP and the Econova network, we are launching a new call to promote innovation and the business fabric. It is an open invitation to entrepreneurs, companies and the academic sector to put their creativity at the service of the country. We are looking for the best ideas in the sector to accelerate the energy transition and promote reuse processes in the industry, which aim to meet Ecopetrol's decarbonization objectives,' said Andres Felipe Lopez, Ecopetrol's Innovation Manager.

How to participate

The call is called HubTransicionEnergetica and is operated by the Center for Innovation and Development of the Electricity Sector (Cidet).

Its focus is on solving three challenges to create initiatives that manage to guarantee the integrity of electric power transmission and distribution lines and the use of disused solar panels and industrial batteries through remote assistance.

This initiative is open to national and foreign companies, members of the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation (ST+i) and public, private or mixed organizations, whose activity promotes the ST+i ecosystem.

Those interested in the call can enter the website of the Econova www.econova.co network, in the 2024 challenges section and there they will find information on conditions and terms, as well as the link, where they can submit their proposals before July 5, 2024.

To date, Ecopetrol Group's Open Innovation network, Econova, has launched 39 innovation challenges under the scientific leadership of the ICP. In support of these challenges, more than $2,600 million has been disbursed, which has made it possible to materialize innovations such as: the development of a plant to generate electricity and gas from organic waste for an energy community in Cartagena and a pilot-scale clean fuel system, which replaces diesel with green hydrogen in river transport in the Caribbean region. among others.

With these innovative proposals, based on ST+i, Ecopetrol is committed to the development of solutions that are aimed at promoting the energy transition, reducing the carbon footprint and protecting biodiversity.
