ESSEN (dpa-AFX) - The management of energy supplier Eon expects a decline in profits in day-to-day business in the current year. However, the Essen-based DAX-listed company expects to perform better than analysts had expected in advance. Before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization and adjusted for non-operating effects (ber Ebitda), Eon announced in Essen on Wednesday morning that it is likely to make between 8.8 and 9 billion euros in 2024. Operating profit is expected to rise to over 11 billion euros by 2028. The average estimate of analysts surveyed by the company was lower for both periods.

Eon had already presented preliminary figures for 2023 at the beginning of February, which have now been confirmed. According to these figures, the Essen-based company earned €9.4 billion in its day-to-day business, 16% more than a year earlier.
