(MT Newswires) -- Peter Kern, outgoing CEO of Expedia Group, says Expedia's technology transformation and brand redesign over the past four years are positioning the company well for the future. He predicts continued growth in travel, but at a more moderate pace than after the pandemic.

In the face of competition, particularly from Airbnb, Kern highlights the improvements made by Expedia, in terms of artificial intelligence and customer experience, as well as the launch of a new rewards programme.

Kern notes that car rental prices have recently fallen and that airfares are starting to soften, particularly in the US. Accommodation prices remain stable, with variations depending on the market segment.
