MADISON, Wis. (AP) _ First Business Financial Services Inc. (FBIZ) on Thursday reported second-quarter earnings of $8.2 million.

The Madison, Wisconsin-based bank said it had earnings of 95 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 82 cents per share.

The bank holding company for First Business Bank and First Business Bank-Milwaukee posted revenue of $30.9 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $28 million, which also topped Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $27.6 million.

First Business Financial Services shares have risen 47% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $27.07, an increase of 87% in the last 12 months.
