1. Compared consolidated sales in June and May 2022:
The consolidated sales of NTD 23.93bn in June 2022 decreased by NTD 0.91bn
and was down by 3.7% from May 2022. The both of sales spread of volume and
price declined. The reasons were as follows:
(1). The sales spread of volume decreased by NTD 0.52bn.
The total sales volume of EVA, PP and AE of the Company in June 2022
decreased by 10,000 MT from May 2022, because the weak terminal demand made
the customers use their stocks first and purchase less.
(2). The sales spread of price decreased by NTD 0.39bn.
The price of PVC of the Company in June 2022 was down by 7.6% from May 2022,
and the sales decreased by NTD 0.44bn, given (1) the weak real estate and
auto market in China, (2) sales export competition from China PVC peers
with low price, and (3) tthe rainy season and flood in India and Bangladesh
in June weakened the demand.
2. Compared consolidated sales in June 2022 and June 2021:
The consolidated sales of NTD 23.93bn in June 2022, which reached the
historical high amount during the same period, increased by NTD 0.99bn and
was up by 4.3% from June 2021. The reasons were as follows:
(1). The sales spread of price increased by NTD 2.81bn.
The price of caustic soda, SAP and EVA of the Company in June 2022 was up
by 45~130% from June 2021, given (1) the European peers of caustic soda and
SAP cut production due to the increased energy price affected by the war
between Russia and Ukraine, and (2) the strong demand on the EVA solar cell
encapsulation film.
(2). The sales spread of volume decreased by NTD 1.82bn.
A. The sales volume of PP and AE of the Company in June 2022 decreased
by 22,000 MT from June, 2021, and the sales decreased by NTD 1.02bn,
because Linyuan PP plant and Mailiao AE plant were in turnaround in June
2022.
B. The sales volume of AN of the Company in June 2022 decreased by 7,000 MT
from June, 2021, and the sales decreased by NTD 0.43bn, because the demand
on consumer appliances, electronic products  and automobiles decreased as
COVID-19 pandemic became smooth in Europe and the USA.
