Heron Lake BioEnergy, LLC announced earnings results for the second quarter ended April 30, 2019. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was USD 25.494 million compared to USD 29.880 million a year ago. Operating loss was USD 1.275 million compared to operating Income of USD 1.285 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 1.115 million compared to net income of USD 1.271 million a year ago. Net loss per unit attributable to the company was USD 0.01 compared net earnings per unit of USD 0.02 a year ago.
For the half year, sales was USD 51.192 million compared to USD 57.853 million a year ago. Operating loss was USD 3.228 million compared to operating Income of USD 2.001 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 3.138 million compared to net income of USD 2.133 million a year ago. Net loss per unit attributable to the company was USD 0.04 compared net earnings per unit of USD 0.03 a year ago.
Heron Lake BioEnergy, LLC owns and operates an ethanol plant near Heron Lake, Minnesota with a permitted capacity of approximately 72.3 million gallons per year of undenatured ethanol on a twelve-month rolling sum basis. In addition, Heron Lake BioEnergy, LLC produces and sells distillersâ grains with solubles and corn oil as co-products of ethanol production. The Companyâs segments include Ethanol Production and Natural Gas Pipeline. Heron Lake BioEnergy, LLCâs wholly owned subsidiary, HLBE Pipeline Company, LLC (HLBE Pipeline Company), is the sole owner of Agrinatural Gas, LLC (Agrinatural). Agrinatural, is a natural gas pipeline company that owns and operates the natural gas pipeline that provides natural gas to the Companyâs ethanol production facility and other customers through a connection with the natural gas pipeline facilities of Northern Border Pipeline Company in Cottonwood County, Minnesota.
