Trading resumed on the London Metal Exchange after a power outage at a third-party data center halted trading, the exchange said Tuesday.

The LME, which is owned by Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd., said that following the outage, it had switched to a backup data center and that electronic trading had since resumed as normal.

The outage halted trading for at least five hours after the planned start to electronic trading early in Asian trading hours.

Live prices for the LME's three-month forward contracts, the benchmarks regularly referenced by traders, were still unavailable on third-party data provider FactSet as of Tuesday at 1000 GMT.
