CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) _ HubSpot Inc. (HUBS) on Thursday reported a loss of $22.5 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 49 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 28 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 13 cents per share.

The cloud-based marketing and sales software platform posted revenue of $228.4 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $210.5 million.

For the current quarter ending in December, HubSpot expects its per-share earnings to range from 21 cents to 23 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $235 million to $237 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.

HubSpot expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.13 to $1.15 per share, with revenue ranging from $866 million to $868 million.

HubSpot shares have more than doubled since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $336.21, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
