John Wiley & Sons : Wiley and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology Sign Agreement to Advance Open Access in Saudi Arabia

HOBOKEN, N.J. - March 21, 2024-Wiley, one of the world's largest publishers and a global leader in research and learning, today announced a new three-year open accessagreement with KingAbdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia, beginning on January 1, 2024.
This represents the first open accessagreement between a Saudi Arabian institution and Wiley.It will provide KAUST scholars with reading access to Wiley's complete journal portfolio and enable KAUST researchers to publish in Wiley'shybrid open access journalportfolio, which includesover 1,300 journals.
"We are thrilled to partner with Wiley on this historic agreement. This partnership has the potential to accelerate scientific discovery and collaboration around the world and signifies a major step forward for open access publishing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," said Nora Alshibani, KAUST Library Director.
"We're excited to advance our long-standing partnership with KAUST, which is a leading academic force in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East," said Kathryn Sharples, Vice President, Open Research, Wiley.
Wiley has strong momentum in advancing open accesspartnerships, having signed more than 80 agreements around the globe, including with institutions in Qatar and Türkiye.
