Juroku Bank plans to set up a representative office in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi, probably in February 2018. After a number of its corporate clients started operations in Vietnam, the bank aims to strengthen services for Japanese businesses doing business in the country and boost support for companies planning expansion into the Vietnamese market.

At the same time, the bank plans to close its Hong Kong office, which was established in 1987, in a move that apparently reflects Japanese companies' shift of operational emphasis from China to Southeast Asia.
