Members of the Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America union, including about 70 security officers at the Lockheed Martin Corporation facility in Fort Worth, have approved a new three-year labor agreement with the company. The union members approved their agreement in a vote on July 14, 2012. The union and company had been negotiating since last month. This is the fourth labor agreement negotiated at the Fort Worth plant this year. Previous agreements were reached with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), following a strike by the IAM. The Federated Independent Texas Union (FITU), representing manufacturing planners, will negotiate on a new contract with the company next year. Lockheed Martin's Fort Worth plant produces the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter and the F-16 Fighting Falcon, in addition to conducting work on other aeronautics manufacturing and research & development projects.
