LUKOIL CONTINUES TO INVEST IN SOCIAL FACILITIES IN ITS OPERATION REGIONS

LUKOIL and the Government of the Astrakhan region concluded a Supplementary Social and Economic Cooperation Agreement, which provides for funding Astrakhan-based Zarya Kaspiya h​andball team.

LUKOIL has been supporting the team since 1997. Since then, the team has repeatedly appeared among the runners-up of Russian Handball Super League and various international competitions. It also played in 17 seasons of the European Cup competitions. The team paved the way for its players becoming Olympic champions and world-class athletes. Leading players of Zarya Kaspiya are regulars in the national handball team.

Under the agreement, the company will also help to create comfortable public spaces in the Astrakhan region's jurisdictions and hold LUKOIL's Social and Cultural Projects Competition.

'Zarya Kaspiya' handball team was established in 1978 by the Astrakhan Computing Tools Research Institute. Seven years later, the team joined the top league of the USSR Championship for the first time in the history of Astrakhan handball. At the time, it played under the auspices of Dynamo Sports Society. Over time, the team was known as 'Zarya', 'Dynamo', 'LUKOIL-DYNAMO' and 'Zarya Kaspiya'.

14/02/2019 -LUKOIL AND KALMYKIA DEFINE NEW AREAS OF COOPERATION

​​President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov and the Head of the Republic of Kalmykia, Alexey Orlov, signed a Protocol to the Cooperation Agreement between the company and the region for 2019​. The protocol envisages reconstruction and re-equipment of the concert and cinema halls in Elista, renovation of several public facilities and involvement of the company in holding the contest of its Social and Cultural Projects.​
