President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov arrived today in the city of Langepas (Yugra region, Russia) on a working visit. Langepas is one of the founding cities where LUKOIL's history began. There Vagit Alekperov inspected the facilities that had been constructed and reconstructed with the Company's support.
One of those is the Neftyanik water sports complex, which features a swimming pool, a gym, a cardio zone, a boxing hall and a sauna bath. The complex can accommodate over 700 visitors a day. Another is the Culture Centre where over 50 clubs function: choirs, dance groups, music ensembles, folklore and other societies.
Vagit Alekperov examined the Generational Bridge park where the Flame stele is installed (it was a personal gift from LUKOIL's President on the occasion of Langepas's 35th anniversary). He also took a walk along the Peoples' Friendship Alley, which is a cultural and historical complex devoted to the peoples who built the city.
Special attention was given to the Pioneers' Settlement. Examples of machinery and buildings from the early history of the settlement and, later, the city of Langepas are exhibited there. One of them is the barrel shack where the pathfinders lived before wooden houses were built.
Vagit Alekperov also attended the ceremony of national, ministerial and corporate awards presentation to LUKOIL employees.
