Meito Sangyo Co., Ltd. (TSE:2207) agreed to acquire Hiramatsu Shoten Co., Ltd. from Yuka Sekiya, Kazuki Sekiya, Masami Hiramatsu and Fumiyo Hiramatsu on December 25, 2023. As part of acquisition, 7,700 shares will be acquired. For period ended July 2023, Hiramatsu reported net worth of ¥705 million, total assets of ¥1.2 billion, sales of ¥83 million, operating loss of ¥14 million and net loss of ¥11 million.
The transaction is expected to complete on January 22, 2024.
Meito Sangyo Co., Ltd. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of food and chemical products, as well as the real estate business. The Company operates through three business segments. The Food segment manufactures and sells chocolate, powdered beverages, baumkuchen, jelly, ice cream, candy, cakes, nutritional foods, and others. The Chemicals segment includes rennet (coagulant for cheese), lipase (lipolytic enzyme), dextran (plasma expander, blood flow improver and others), fragrance (food additive), dextran sulfate (hyperlipidemia) Dextran magnetite (MRI contrast agent, medical equipment materials and others), mixed feed, dextran iron (animal drug), among others. The Real Estate segment in involved in the management of golf courses and the leasing of real estate.
