SOHO House owner, the Membership Collective Group, saw its community grow by 16,000 in the third quarter to stand at 144,503.

As the easing of lockdown restrictions allowed the return of in-person events, summer revellers signed up to join the private members club in record numbers. The brand's Houses, which are frequented by Victoria Beckham, Nicole Kidman and Kendall Jenner, saw revenue from guest fees jump by 21 per cent to $51m (£37.8m) as the club added over 3,000 hopefuls to the waitlist which now stands at 66,800.

Nick Jones, chief executive of the membership Collective Group, commented, "we've had a really strong quarter and have loved welcoming members back to Soho Houses around the world, to Scorpios Beach Club in Mykonos and The Ned in London."

"We're still seeing strong demand for our memberships," Jones added.

Despite surging interest, the company still ended the third quarter in the red turning an operating loss of $53m. Meanwhile net loss grew to $77m, up from $37m a year prior. The Membership Collective Group attributed the losses to share-based payments, foreign exchange and IPO costs.
