(Alliance News) - M&C Saatchi PLC on Thursday named joint chief creative officers, in a new role for the company, which it believes will "drive transformative results".

The London-based advertising company appointed Rob Doubal and Laurence Thomson to the newly created role of joint global chief creative officer to assist with the rollout of its new operating model focused on creative ambition and activities.

Both join the company from McCann UK, where they also held the role of joint-CCO. Over the last two decades the duo have been involved in delivering "award-winning creative, strategic and innovative work" for companies including software and computing firm Microsoft Corp, food delivery provider Just Eat and grocer Aldi.

M&C's incoming Chief Executive Officer Zaid Al-Qassab said: "Their unique way of looking at the world, and track record of success with iconic and category disrupting campaigns, will undoubtedly drive transformative results for our clients."

The pair will officially assume their roles later this year.

M&C Saatchi shares were up 0.9% to 176.62 pence each in London on Thursday morning.
