MISC Bhd has appointed Captain Rajalingam Subramaniam as group president and group chief executive officer (CEO), effective Oct1, 2022, replacing DatukYee Yang Chien who will be retiring on Sept 30,2022. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, MISC said Yee, who is the current group president and group CEO,has opted for retirement following acareer in the maritime industry spanning over20 years, in various leadership roles within the group, the last being his current role which he held since 2015. During his tenure, Yee has steered MISCs transformation into a formidable and resilient international maritime conglomerate and led the strategisation in streamlining the groups business portfolio to deliver energy-related maritime solutions and services, it said.

The group said Yee has achieved numerous international recognitions during his tenure, most notably as the top 10 prominent leaders in the Lloyds Power List 2018 for oil and gas shipping. Captain Rajalingam began his career at sea and came ashore in 1996, and has since held various positions in the MISC Group, which included vice-president, fleet management services of MISC Bhd in 2008 before being appointed as president & CEO of tanker operator AET in 2016, it said. In a separate statement, Yee expressed his confidence that the group iswell-positioned for continued success and drivesustainable progress in the maritime industry under the leadership of Captain Rajalingam who is currently MISCs chief operating officer and AETs president and CEO.
