Investing in our communities is something National Grid takes seriously. For decades, our employees have volunteered their time and talent to guide local organizations as leaders. The company has backed up their work with financial investments to sustain social and educational programs across its service area.

National Grid's promise to the community extends far beyond sponsoring events and volunteering. It defines how we will ensure that no one is left behind in the clean energy transition and create an equitable pathway for everyone to benefit. This commitment was recognized by the Central New York Business Journal recently at its 2022 Nonprofit Awards, as National Grid's Project C was honored as the Corporate Community Partner of the year.

"National Grid has a long, proud history of giving back to the communities we serve, providing financial support and volunteer leadership to grassroots groups and nonprofit organizations," said Alberto Bianchetti, regional director of customer and community management for National Grid. "Project C codifies our work to create a clean energy future, address issues of environmental justice and social equity, invest in our communities, and build a diverse and educated workforce to achieve all of these goals."

The launch of Project C in September 2021 marked National Grid's recommitment to create transformative, lasting change in the communities in New York state where we work and live. It's debuted was personified through a Day of Service, where hundreds of employees spread out across the state to participate in park cleanups and property beautification at local nonprofits and long-term care facilities, cook and serve food at a local food shelter, and deliver Meals on Wheels. In Syracuse, National Grid employees teamed with the Food Bank of Central New York to pack boxes of food to combat hunger and food insecurity for children on non-school days, when free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch cannot be accessed.

"We are forever grateful and thankful to have National Grid in our community, constantly giving back and we thank them for all of their partnerships through the years," said Karen Belcher, executive director of the Food Bank of Central New York. "I am thrilled we were able to nominate them and they were awarded the Corporate Community Partner award."
