National Grid has welcomed Joseph Suich to the company's newly established US Chief Compliance Officer role. Suich will play a key role in assuring compliance with obligations across the US business. He will develop and implement compliance management tools that are engineered to support the achievement of strategic goals. In addition, he will drive a culture of compliance that is consistent with National Grid's values.

Suich, internationally recognized in the compliance field, has held numerous compliance leadership positions in the business, academic, public service, energy and private practice sectors, including as General Electric Power's Global Chief Compliance Officer and Executive Counsel, Deputy General Counsel for the New York Department of Public Service, Adjunct Professor of Compliance Law at Albany Law School and with the law firm of LeBeouf, Lamb, Greene & McCrae.

Suich holds a law degree from the Vermont Law School and an MA/BA from the University of Connecticut. He is also a certified healthcare and privacy compliance expert and manager, and served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division.
