Nov 9 (Reuters) - British publisher National World said on Thursday that Sheree Manning has been appointed as its chief financial officer with immediate effect.

Manning had been serving as acting finance director since September last year, said National World, which owns regional titles including the Scotsman and the Yorkshire Post.

Founded by British newspaper veteran David Montgomery, London-listed National World, in August, confirmed its interest in buying the Telegraph group.

Last year, National World had scrapped plans to make a cash offer for Reach Plc, the British publisher behind the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror newspapers. (Reporting by Aby Jose Koilparambil in Bengaluru; Editing by Savio D'Souza)
