Nexam Chemical has received confirmation that a new patent will be approved. The patent naturally falls under Nexam's single largest application area, PET foam, and concerns an additive combination that can improve the processing properties of polyester materials. It is the first new patent obtained in several years.

With the help of this new additive combination, it is possible to further improve the production of high-value core materials for, for example, wind turbine blades. The patent concerns melt modification of polyesters using proactive additives. In addition to that, there is an expectation that the patent can be useful both in the fiber area, where clothing fibers are often made of polyester, and general recycling of polyesters.
