(Alliance News) - Olidata Spa announced Tuesday that it has taken over 40 percent of Per Te Srl, a leader in the research and development of digitization of healthcare data and artificial intelligence algorithms.

Per Te for the remaining 60 percent is controlled by SevenHolding, a leading healthcare company born from the ambitious idea of creating a new care format based on an integrated digital healthcare system.

The deal included the acquisition of 95 percent of the shares of Advanced Processing Srl, a company that created the "Medical Class A2" wearable device for monitoring vital parameters.

"The union of the two companies aims to establish a new, completely Italian industrial line in the field of healthcare and telemedicine: the revolution of a vital sector such as healthcare, where technological and scientific know-how come together to give life to the creation of a more resilient and future-oriented healthcare-digital ecosystem," Olidata said.

Cristiano Rufini, CEO of Olidata, commented, "The acquisition that Sfera Defence has made gives us the opportunity to combine Italian technology and medicine with the goal of improving the quality of life for everyone."

Olidata's stock closed Tuesday up 4.8 percent at EUR0.66 per share.
