April 27 (Reuters) - Brazil oil company Petro Rio purchased the Albacora Leste oilfield from Petrobras for $2.2 billion, according to a report from financial blog Brazil Journal, citing sources familiar with the matter.

In November, oil giant Petrobras picked a consortium of Petro Rio and Cobra, a subsidiary of France's Vinci SA , to start talks on developing the Albacora offshore oilfield. (Reporting by Carolina Pulice and Peter Frontini Editing by Chris Reese)
