Australian lithium miner Pilbara Minerals said Wednesday it has revised a spodumene-concentrate supply deal with lithium chemicals producer Chengxin Lithium Group, raising agreed sales volumes and extending the life of the arrangement.

Under an existing deal, signed in 2023, Pilbara Minerals agreed to supply 70,000 metric tons of spodumene concentrate to China's Chengxin from its Pilgangoora operation in fiscal 2024.

The new agreement is for sales of 85,000 tons in calendar 2024, followed by 150,000 tons in both 2025 and 2026, Pilbara Minerals said.

Sales to Chengxin, a supplier to companies including BYD and Hyundai Motor, will be made based on the prevailing market price, in line with the existing agreement, the Australian miner said.
