The board of Polar Capital Global Healthcare Trust plc announced the appointment of two new independent non-executive directors. Andrew Fleming and Jeremy Whitley will be appointed with effect from 1 December 2019. Andrew Fleming recently left Waverton, where he was chief executive and retired as chair of the board of JP Morgan Japanese Investment Trust plc in December 2018. Mr. Fleming began his career at Gartmore (where he was Head of Equities and Deputy Chief Investment Officer) before joining ABN Amro (again in senior roles) and latterly Kames Capital where he was CEO and CIO. Jeremy Whitley is currently a non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee of The Scottish Oriental Smaller Companies Trust plc. With effect from 1 February 2020, Mr. Whitley will also join the board of JP Morgan Indian Investment Trust plc as a non-executive director. Mr. Whitley was formerly Head of UK and European Equities at Aberdeen Asset Management, a position he held from 2009 to 2017. A resolution proposing the election of Andrew and Jeremy as Non-executive Directors will be put to shareholders at the next Annual General Meeting ('AGM') of the Company due to be held in February 2020. In addition to the above, both Andrew and Jeremy will also be appointed as Non-executive Directors of the company's subsidiary, PCGH ZDP plc, with the same effective appointment date.
