MIDLAND, Texas (AP) _ ProPetro Holding Corp. (PUMP) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $22.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the Midland, Texas-based company said it had profit of 22 cents. Earnings, adjusted for asset impairment costs, came to 25 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 42 cents per share.

The oilfield services company posted revenue of $434.8 million in the period, which also did not meet Street forecasts. Ten analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $436.3 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $163 million, or $1.57 per share. Revenue was reported as $2.05 billion.

In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, the company's shares hit $2.45. A year ago, they were trading at $22.95.
