International stocks trading in New York closed higher on Friday.
The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts rose 1.3%, to 150.75. The European index edged up 0.9%, to 148.01. The Asian index gained 1.8%, to 170.73. The Latin American index moved up 1.4%, to 189.96, while the emerging-markets index climbed 2.3%, to 286.55.
PDD Holdings was among those whose ADRs traded actively.
The mobile marketplace company surged 19% after sharp gains in its top and bottom lines for the first quarter.
Quhuo jumped 14% after the Beijing-based bed-and-breakfast brand said that during China's Labor Day weekend, its homestay sector, operated by Chengtu Home, recorded an average daily occupancy rate of 95%, achieving year-on-year growth of 265%.
