I'm delighted to share the news that REA has joined as a member of the Tech Council of Australia (TCA). The TCA launched in August and this week a further 35 organisations joined the cohort of 60 members.

The TCA has a number of key targets which include the creation of one million tech jobs by 2025 and contributing $250 billion to the economy by 2030. Technology is a major export component and contributor to the Australian economy and working with the other TCA members, REA will help shape Australia's digital future.

REA is proud to employee some of Australia's best tech talent and we're looking forward to working with the TCA members to achieve the Council's key targets.

What is the Tech Council of Australia?

The Tech Council of Australia is the united voice of the country's most successful technology companies. It was formed to help shape Australia's digital future and help capture the economic opportunity available for our local tech sector.

Working collaboratively with governments, businesses and the community, the council advises on policy and initiatives that support the growth of Australia as a tech-enabled economy. The Council focuses on initiatives that support growth of, and investment in, Australia's tech sector; generating more tech jobs and pathways into them; and helping develop effective regulation for new and emerging technologies.

So why did REA become a member?

The Australian technology industry is already a vital part of the local economy, but we believe we are stronger together. Together, the TCA members exist to:

  • Be a voice for the Australian technology industry, to invigorate and leverage our collective abilities and strengths to create an accessible, vibrant, profitable and collaborative part of the Australian economy.
  • Engage and advise in collaborative and constructive conversation with Australia's policymakers and the wider community, to keep Australia at the leading edge of technology in the world.
  • Develop impactful partnerships with private and public sector organisations to build stronger, digitally skilled talent for Australian companies.
  • Work closely with local communities to create employment opportunities and have a positive impact on development and economic growth.

As a home-grown business, REA looks forward to working with the TCA to focus on initiatives that support the growth of, and investment in, Australia's tech sector. Importantly we want to generate more tech jobs and pathways into them, while creating space for innovation and boosting the growth of the tech sector.
