(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Thursday.

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Robert Walters PLC, up 5.2% at 456.74 pence, 12-month range 344p-580p. The recruitment firm's stock rises ahead of a trading statement due on January 11. However, the year has been challenging for the firm, with its stock down 12% since January. In October, it said revenue in the third quarter fell by 17% from the prior year, as the uncertain macroeconomic climate proved challenging for recruiters, as clients delayed or froze hiring. The stock has yet to recover to around the 500p level it was trading at for the first quarter of 2023. The firm announced in March that its eponymous chief executive was set to depart the following month, after 38 years of leading the firm.

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

----------

Petrofac Ltd, down 2.2% at 39.14p, 12-month range 14.58p-91.05p. The energy infrastructure firm returns some of its recent gains, and remains up 46% over the past month. Last Wednesday, it had announced announced the second contract award under the six-project USD14 billion framework agreement with TenneT, working alongside Hitachi Energy, with Petrofac's portion of the contract worth around USD1.4 billion.
