The New York-based company said it had net income of $2.86 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were $2.81 per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.91 per share.

The independent ratings and analytics provider posted revenue of $2.99 billion in the period, matching Street forecasts.

S&P Global expects full-year earnings in the range of $11.35 to $11.55 per share.
