(Alliance News) - Interior furnishings company Sanderson Design Group PLC on Monday announced a partnership which will see Morris & Co wallpapers, fabrics and licensed products available from a dedicated online shop.

The Denham-based firm said the online offering will launch in the second half of the year. It will be developed and operated in collaboration with Design Online Ltd, a business created by the leading internet retailer Jane Clayton & Co.

"This online collaboration is in line with the group's strategy of identifying e-commerce opportunities, building brand equity and expediting international growth," Sanderson Design said.

The site will also provide customers with a made-to-measure service for curtains and blinds which will initially be offered first in the UK before being expanded in the US at a later date.

Jane Clayton & Co Managing Director Bertie Clayton said: "Interest in William Morris' iconic designs and remarkable story remains very strong around the world, presenting an opportunity for an online channel to attract new customers to Morris & Co and connect directly with the brand's existing global following."

In 2021 Sanderson Design launched its first direct-to-consumer initiative, in collaboration with Design Online, for its Scion brand. The success of this initiative for Scion, the smallest of its brands, highlighted the potential of an online shop for the larger and internationally recognised Morris & Co offering.

Shares in Sanderson Design were up 2.6% at 108.25 pence each in London on Monday morning.
