Scandic Nurnberg Central to open its doors. March 1, 2024 marks the opening of Scandic's first hotel in Nurnberg, the second largest metropolitan area in Bavaria. The new hotel is an important step in the company's expansion in Germany.

With 311 rooms and event facilities for up to 800 people, the newly renovated hotel has been rebranded as a Scandic hotel since it was taken over from Pandox. Scandic Nurnberg Central will be operated by Scandic pursuant to a long-term revenue-based lease agreement from March 1, 2024. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, just a few minutes' walk from the historic district and central station.

Leisure and business travelers alike can enjoy 311 rooms and suites, an indoor pool, saunas and flexible meeting and event spaces in addition to a culinary food and beverage offering focused on sustainable regional and seasonal ingredients. The hotel's restaurant, Public Kitchen & Bar, is characterized by its creative cuisine and wide range of climate-smart dishes. For active guests, the gym and yoga facilities offer a 180-degree panoramic view of the city from the top floor.

With its strategic location just 20 minutes from the airport, Scandic Nurnberg Central is the ideal venue for conferences and events of all kinds. The hotel offers meeting rooms that are particularly well-suited for smaller workshops and seminars. For larger events, guests can take advantage of the magnificent ballroom with capacity for up to 800 people.

Its flexible design, the walls can be easily moved for various types of events. For example, cars can be rolled in for launches and exhibitions. The hotel will be managed by experienced General Manager Heiko Kain who also oversaw the successful opening and establishment of Scandic Frankfurt Hafenpark.

Pandox recently carried out a major renovation of the hotel, which reopened in 2023. During the renovation, technical and sustainability-related investments and upgrades were made to the property. As at all Scandic hotels, sustainability is a central part of Scandic Nurnberg Central.

The hotel will be ecolabeled according to the Nordic Swan Ecolabel's new, tough criteria where, among other things, environmentally certified products and chemicals, the absence of single-use disposables, reduced water consumption, a climate-friendly menu and focus on reducing food waste form the basis for certification. Following the opening, Scandic will operate seven hotels in Germany with a total of 2,461 rooms. Facts about Scandic Nürnberg Central: 7 floors; Hotel space: approx. 15,000 m2; Rooms: 311.
