Scentre : named Global Listed Development Sector Leader by GRESB for its Leadership in Sustainability

Global ESG benchmark GRESB has named Scentre Group as a Global Listed Development Sector Leader in its 2020 Real Estate Assessment.

Each year GRESB assesses and benchmarks the ESG performance of real assets worldwide. The GRESB Assessments are guided by what investors and the industry consider to be material issues in the sustainability performance of real asset investments and are aligned with international reporting frameworks, goals and emerging regulations.

The GRESB Sector Leader Awards Program recognises real estate and infrastructure companies, funds and assets that have demonstrated outstanding leadership in sustainability.

In 2020, GRESB introduced separate Management, Performance, and Development Components for the Real Estate Assessment. Scentre Group participates in the Standing Investment and Development aspect of the benchmark and the sector leadership relates to Development. For the period of the 2020 GRESB survey, our key development focus was Westfield Newmarket in Auckland, New Zealand.

Further to our sector leadership recognition for development, Scentre Group received an 'A' rating for public disclosure in the Standing Investment section of the 2020 GRESB survey. This compared to a global average of C and peer average of B.
