Schroders is today announcing that it has appointed Co-Heads of its UK Institutional business, as the firm continues to evolve its well-established offering to meet clients' complex needs.

Claire Glennon and Russell Smith have been promoted to assume dual leadership of the business and will report into James Rainbow, Schroders' Head of UK Distribution and Latin America.

Claire was previously Head of UK and Ireland Business Development for the Institutional business while Russell was Head of UK and Ireland Institutional Clients.

Claire joined Schroders' Institutional team in 2013 while Russell has been with Schroders since 2008. Both have significant experience and extensive relationships in the UK institutional market.

John Griffiths is stepping down from his role as Head of UK and Ireland Institutional to pursue another opportunity.

Furthermore, Tom Silber has been promoted to the newly-created role of Head of Global Consultant Relations, focused on overseeing Schroders' relationships with key international consultants. He will continue to lead Schroders' UK Consultant Relations Team.

This carefully managed transition will ensure continuity for Schroders' clients and also demonstrates the firm's commitment to promoting and supporting its in-house talent.

James Rainbow, Schroders' Head of UK Distribution and Latin America, commented:

'Schroders' UK Institutional business has a group of talented and experienced market specialists and we are pleased to confirm that Claire and Russell have been appointed as Co-Heads of our UK Institutional Business.

'Tom's promotion also emphasises the importance of investment consultants to our business and the increasingly global relationship Schroders has with this market.

'We are confident that, under Claire, Russell and Tom's leadership, Schroders' market-leading UK Institutional business will continue to evolve to meet clients' complex needs. We would also like to thank John for his contribution and wish him well.'
