Today, on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Schroders is delighted to announce that it has joined the Valuable 500 Initiative; the largest network of global chief executives determined to embed disability inclusion throughout the whole business supply chain.

The Valuable 500 Initiative, launched in 2019, aims to bring disability inclusion to the forefront of the diversity and inclusion agenda and raise awareness amongst business leaders around how disability is valued and represented within business. Today, the Valuable 500 encompasses fifty five sectors, with over 12.8 million employees and reaches across thirty one countries.

This development follows the recent news that Schroders' became one of the first signatories and founding partners of Change the Race Ratio. Both initiatives demonstrate Schroders resolute commitment to advocating for greater diversity and inclusion across all businesses.

Peter Harrison, Group Chief Executive, Schroders commented:

'I am delighted that we have committed to this initiative and am looking forward to being part of The Valuable 500 community. Given our low representation of people with disabilities at Schroders, I believe we can make strides to ensure our environment is more inclusive and offer successful careers to people from all backgrounds.'

Caroline Casey, Founder, The Valuable 500:

'Today is a day for celebrating the immense contribution people with disabilities bring to business and society more broadly - this 15% of the global population bring diversity of thought and lived experience and a wealth of talent, all vital for the business sustainability agenda. But it must also be a day of reflection, because we are not there yet with disability inclusion, and a fair and accessible society for all.'
