Starting today, customers can install the AWS Service Management Connector via a guided setup in ServiceNow.
This guided setup simplifies the ServiceNow scoped app configurations tasks, minimizing the expertise needed to establish the connection between AWS and ServiceNow. ServiceNow administrators, or power users with permissions to the Connector scoped app, simply follow the guided steps and mark each task complete or skipped where applicable. The AWS Service Management Connector documentation also includes an AWS CloudFormation baseline permissions template that sets up the AWS environment. Thus, the ServiceNow Guide Setup and AWS baseline permissions give customers the ability to focus on developing guardrails and detective controls via integrated AWS services and validating that connection between AWS and ServiceNow.
This release also introduces a dual sync integration with AWS Support cases and ServiceNow incidents. ServiceNow change requests can also now be derived from AWS Systems Manager Change Manager templates, including executing curated automation playbooks upon approval. The connector provides existing integration features for AWS Service Catalog, AWS Config, AWS Systems Manager OpsCenter, AWS Systems Manager Automation and AWS Security Hub, which simplifies cloud provisioning, operations and resource management as well as enables you to view streamlined Service Management governance and oversight over AWS services.
The AWS Service Management Connector for ServiceNow is available at no charge in the ServiceNow Store. These new features are generally available in all AWS Regions where AWS Service Catalog, AWS Config, AWS Systems Manager and AWS Security Hub services are available. For more information, please visit the documentation on the AWS Service Management Connector. You can also learn more about AWS Service Catalog, AWS Config, AWS Systems Manager, AWS Support and AWS Security Hub.
