In order to cooperate with the renovation of Hongqiao International Airport's Terminal 1, the check-in counters of Spring Airlines will be changed from Gate 4 to Gates 5 - 7 of Terminal 1 in Hongqiao Airport starting from Nov 6, 2014.

Due to the adjustment, passengers of Flight 9C8825 from Shanghai to Sanya and Flight 9C8957 from Shanghai to Shantou will check in at Gate 7, and passengers of other Spring Airlines flights can check in at Gate 5. Passengers are advised to arrive two hours before the departure time.

In order to cope with the increasing traffic volume and demand for more advanced facilities in Hongqiao International Airport's Terminal 1, the project to overhaul the terminal is expected to take three years, beginning at the end of this year, which will be the first time since 1994 when the terminal has been expanded.

Hongqiao International Airport was built in 1921, and served as the launching pad for the maiden flight of the nation's civil aviation in 1929. The terminal will remain operational during the renovation process. It will continue to serve 15 percent of Hongqiao Airport's 700 daily flights, according to an airport official.
