• Third highest monthly production in SinterCast history
  • Seven consecutive months above three million Engine Equivalents
  • Positive Installation outlook for fourth quarter

[Stockholm, 8 October 2021] – Annualised series production in September increased to 3.6 million Engine Equivalents, becoming the third highest month in SinterCast history, only surpassed by September and October 2019, at 3.9 million and 3.7 million Engine Equivalents, respectively.

Series production remained strong throughout the third quarter, with many customers maintaining production during the traditional summer shutdown period to meet the market demand. July production amounted to 3.0 million Engine Equivalents, marking only the second time that July reached the three million threshold. Ultimately, series production for the third quarter finished at 3.2 million Engine Equivalents, equalling the second quarter and corresponding to the joint third highest quarters in SinterCast history.

“Beyond the positive series production, the third quarter also marked the formal completion of the System 4000 installations at the Scania foundry in Sweden and at the FAW foundry in China, plus the installation of a Mini-System 4000 for CGI product development at a new foundry in Asia” said Dr Steve Dawson, President & CEO. “The remaining months of 2021 provide a busy outlook, with several annual service visits that have been delayed due to travel restrictions; a System 4000 installation at the Impro foundry in Mexico; and, a Ladle Tracker installation at the Hyundai foundry in Korea. These activities provide the opportunity for a strong finish, followed by a positive outlook for a significant increase in series production during 2022.”
