SIOS Technology Inc. reported consolidated and non-consolidated earnings results for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2017. For the year, on consolidated basis, net sales were JPY 12,470 million against JPY 12,080 million for the same period prior year. Operating income was JPY 320 million against JPY 474 million for the same period prior year. Ordinary income was JPY 326 million against JPY 389 million for the same period prior year. Net loss was JPY 587 million or JPY 68.11 per basic share against net income of JPY 254 million or JPY 29.56 per basic share for the same period prior year. Return on equity negative was 44.1% against positive return on equity of 17.0% a year ago. Cash flow from operating activities was JPY 640 million against JPY 311 million for the same period prior year.
For the year, on non-consolidated basis, net sales were JPY 6,896 million against JPY 8,003 million for the same period prior year. Operating income was JPY 328 million against JPY 288 million for the same period prior year. Ordinary income was JPY 321 million against JPY 288 million for the same period prior year. Net loss was JPY 614 million or JPY 71.26 per basic share against JPY 7 million or JPY 0.83 per basic share for the same period prior year.
For the company provided consolidated earnings guidance for the year ending December 31, 2018, the company expects net sales of JPY 13,000 million, operating income of JPY 330 million, ordinary income of JPY 330 million, profit attributable to owners of parent of JPY 260 million, and net income per share of JPY 30.13.
SIOS Corp is engaged in the development, infrastructure construction, operation support, and other businesses of information technology (IT) systems based on open source software (OSS), adding applications, operating systems and cloud computing, as well as research and development in new areas to create and provide new value. The Company operates its business through two segments. The Open System Infrastructure segment sells OSS-related products, including LifeKeeper, software that can avoid system downtime in the event of an IT system failure, and Red Hat, Inc. related products, as well as the SIOS OSS Yorozu Sodan Shitsu service that handles various inquiries related to OSS and consulting services for various information systems. The Application segment includes software products for multi-functional peripherals, management support systems for financial institutions, the Gluegent series of software as a service for cloud services, among others.
