Soitec has announced the commissioning of a new industrial facility to reinject wafer rinsing water into the manufacture of ultra-pure water for the clean rooms of its manufacturing units in France.

Soitec plans to significantly increase the proportion of water reused in its industrial processes. The rate of wastewater reuse at its historic site in Bernin (Isère, France) will rise from 19% in 2023 to over 35% in 2024.

This solution, developed by Soitec in Bernin over the past three years, is an important step in Soitec's continuous improvement in resource management, one of the major pillars of its sustainable development strategy.

Cyril Menon, Executive Vice-President in charge of Operations and Quality at Soitec: 'This innovation in our manufacturing processes fully embodies the commitments Soitec has been making for several years to limit water withdrawals, an essential resource for the production of semiconductor materials.
